Louis I. Rode

Louis I. Rode, 96, of Landeck, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at his residence.

He was born December 18, 1915, in Landeck, the son of the late Sylvester and Leona (Rahrig) Rode. He first married Veronica (Fuerst) Rode, who preceded him in death in 1999. He then married Maxine (Butler) Rode in 2003, and she survives.

Other survivors include four children, Judith Allemeier and Linda (Jack) Gorman, both of Delphos, Daniel (Giovanna) Rode of St. Louis, Mo., and Larry (Olga) Rode of Landeck; four stepchildren, Dave (Jean) Butler of Front Royal, Va., John Wesley (Sheila) Butler of Mendon, Darlene (Bob) Cramer of Celina and Annette (Tony) Cooper of Overbrook, Kan.; two brothers, Theodore Rode of Coldwater, Mich., and Sylvester Rode Jr. of Fort Jennings; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

A son, Roger Rode; one brother, Norbert Quentin Rode; and three sisters, Sylvia Martin, Zita Martin and Audrey Etgen, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck.

Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 30, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
