Patrol, VWPD complete traffic project
The Van Wert Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol recently completed a two-day joint effort directed towards removing illegal narcotics and impaired drivers from local roadways.
This joint effort put officers together in each agency’s patrol cars and shared resources and knowledge between agency’s making both more effective in their efforts.
Highlights of the effort include eight operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI) arrests, five driving under suspension arrests and 11 criminal arrests; 15 grams of marijuana and 1.5 grams of heroin were seized.
