“A Black Tie Affair”

It’s been a busy week for the Knights as they march ever closer to finishing off the school year. Among the most prominent events was Prom. This year’s prom theme was “A Black Tie Affair”. Promenade was held at Crestview, while the dinner and dance took place at Willow Bend Country Club. After-prom was held at Olympic Lanes. Junior Courtney Boley said “I think this year was better than others because it was classy, clean, and it took a lot less decorating.”

The Knights’ sport seasons are now in full swing with various team victories. Upcoming athletic events are varsity boy’s baseball vs. Ayersville, varsity girl’s softball vs. Coldwater (home), and varsity coed track at St. Johns with Wayne Trace (away). All take place on Tuesday, May 1. Junior Darcci Swagger said “Although many things have changed this season, we’ve still had a good year.”

On Thursday, May 3, at 4:30 p.m., the varsity track team will be playing at Spencerville with Lincolnview. 5 p.m. Starts are the varsity boys baseball vs. LCC, and the varsity girls softball team plays with LCC as well.  Junior Amanda Lobsiger said, “Even though our track team is much larger than normal, we still compete well and feel like a big family.”

On May 5, at 10 a.m., the junior high eighth grade girls’ softball team will play in tourney action against Bath.

Some other events include the FFA state convention on Saturday, May 4, and Pops Concert on Friday, May 11.

With so many activities keeping Crestview students busy, it will be but a short time before the end of the school year arrives.
