Herman H. Beckman

Herman H. Beckman, 87, of Delphos, died at 2 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born April 2, 1925, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Brockhaus) Beckman. On October 11, 1952, he married Alma E. (Gasser) Beckman, who survives in Delphos.

Other survivors include four daughters, Marge (Ken) Wolski of Cincinnati, Jeanette (Al) Baaske of Convoy, Donna (Brian) Blake of Grand Forks, N.D., and Helen (Paul) Dixon of Van Wert; a brother, Ben (Mary Lou) Beckman of Delphos; two sisters, Doris (Leon) Sager of Glandorf and Alice Schroeder of Leipsic; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A sister, Mary Janet of the Franciscan Order, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
