What's more fun than a parade? The fifth grade students at St. Mary of the Assumption School each researched a state as a part of a social studies project. This information was then turned into a shoebox float. Each float was required to have both agriculture products; manufactured products and a well known landmark on it. The students added state flags, maps, birds, and unique decorations. Some were pulled by remote controlled vehicles. The parade of floats proceeded down the hall with the students and staff as spectators. The floats were later judged and displayed for all to enjoy. He demonstrated his basketball skills and invited us to the exhibition game between the Wizards and the Local Stars; this event was sponsored by the American Red Cross. Mr. Jones included students and a teacher in a game of "catch." Pictured is Kindergarten student, Briston Wise ready to catch the basketball without letting it drop. (Photo submitted.)
