Lois M. Williamson Carothers

Lois M. Williamson Carothers, 82, of Paulding, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at her residence.

She was born August 24, 1929, in Scott, the daughter of the late Clifford and Stella (Penwell) McClain. On December 31, 1948, she married Billy Leue Williamson, who preceded her in death on January 2, 1986. On May 28, 1994, she married Robert Carothers, who survives at the residence.

Other survivors include five daughters, Carol (Ken) Grimm of Sebring, Fla., Becky (Mike) Lamb of Paulding, Sandy (David) Burcham and Pam (Jerry) Brown, both of Van Wert, and Marilyn (Jason) Shaffer of Sherwood; a son, Karl Carothers of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Wesley McClain of Traverse City, Mich., and Earl McClain of Paulding; one sister, Donna McNeil of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A sister, Ruth Proxmire, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with the Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Paulding.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, and an hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
