Drug Take Back initiative successful

The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department reported that a total of 84 pounds of prescription drugs were turned in locally as part of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s national “Drug Take Back” initiative.

Northwest Ohio-Toledo office drug turn-ins from 25 law enforcement agencies totaled 2,091 pounds.

Van Wert County Sheriff Stan D. Owens said his office would continue with this initiative, noting that any time county residents want to dispose of prescription drugs they can bring to the sheriff’s office, 113 N. Market St. in Van Wert.
