Ida Elizabeth Prill

Ida Elizabeth Prill, 91, of Van Wert, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born January 22, 1921, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Laurel Brown and Myrtle Garnet (Smalley) Hoffman. On June 29, 1946, she married Harold E. Prill, who preceded her in death on October 3, 2006.

Survivors include two daughters, Penelope K. Prill of Oakland, Calif., and Melanie DePauw of London, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Hermenia High of Van Wert; three grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; two great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Pamela Sue Prill (in infancy); one brother, Laurel “Bud” Hoffman; and a sister, Kay Dilbone, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ohio City, with Pastor Denise Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
