Alice Jean Hamman Dunbar

Alice Jean Hamman Dunbar, 78, of Defiance, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at her daughter’s residence.

She was born June 27, 1933, in Bellefontaine, the daughter of the late Zura and Elsie (Davis) Dunno. On November 9 1956, she married James Hamman, who preceded her in death on November 29, 1998. On January 25, 2003, she married Donald Dunbar, who survives.

Other survivors include five children, Korenia R. (Michael) Scott of Paulding, Eric (Angie) Hamman of Fort Wayne, Ind., Lynette Weible of Las Vegas, Nev., Lynda Sheets of Wauseon and Kent Dunbar of Indianapolis, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Fran) Dunno of Fort Wayne; and a special friend, Bonnie Kaemming of Defiance.

A brother, Frank Dunno, and one sister, Martha Heck, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding. Burial will follow in Hedges Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: ALS Foundation or Zion Lutheran Church in Defiance.
