Christina A. Spoor

Christina A. Spoor, 55, of Van Wert, died at 2:25 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.

She was born June 24, 1956, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Carroll R. Jenkins and Shirley (Bell) Davis. She married William E. “Bill” Spoor III, who survives in Van Wert.

Mrs. Spoor was co-owner and operator of Spoor Contracting and was office manager for Jerandan Portable Toilets, both of Van Wert. In addition to her love of her grandchildren, Chris was a member of Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 and Van Wert Moose Lodge 1320 Auxiliary, both in Van Wert. She was an avid gambler, drag racing enthusiast and cook (you would never leave her house hungry), she truly loved feeding her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her stepfather, Ray Davis of Van Wert; three children, William E. “Lump” Spoor IV and Jerry (Chantal) Spoor, both of Van Wert, and Trisha (David) Rager of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Greg (Becky) Jenkins of Van Wert; two sisters, Cindy (Mike) Wamsley of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sandy Eversole of Van Wert; one sister-in-law, Jan Jenkins of Van Wert; and five grandchildren, Laine, Grace and Emma Spoor and Trinity and Will Rager.

A brother, Rick Jenkins, also preceded her in death.

Prayer services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert at a later date.

Calling hours are from 2-5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
