Marilyn Berres

Marilyn Berres, 83, of Delphos, died at 4:58 a.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born May 15, 1928, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Regina (Grothouse) Eickholt. On August 12, 1950, she married F. George Berres, who survives in Delphos.

Other survivors include six children, Robert (Margie) Berres of Cincinnati, Marcia (Daniel) German, Gary (Brenda) Berres and Carol (Tom) Schulte, all of Delphos, Gloria (Nel) Schroeder of Ottawa and Darlene (Larry) Geise of Hilliard; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother, Leonard Eickholt; one sister, Ruth Horstman; and two grandchildren, Mark German and Wesley Schroeder, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
