Carl L. Lichtenberger
Carl L. Lichtenberger, 79, of rural Decatur, Ind., died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

Carl was born May 27, 1932, in Van Wert County, the son of the late William H. and Ina M. (Finkhousen) Lichtenberger. On April 18, 1954, Carl married Annabelle M. (Shaffer) Lichtenberger, who survives in Decatur.
Carl was a member of the former Decatur Missionary Church and attended Mt. Zion United Brethren Church in Bobo, Ind. He retired from Central Soya/Bunge after 44 years of service and also served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Timothy C. (Mary Ann) Lichtenberger of Decatur, Mark L. Lichtenberger of Michigan City, Ind., and Johnathan L. (Shareen) Lichtenberger of Wren; two daughters, Rebecca A. (Terry) Reichard of Van Wert and Leah L. Lichtenberger of Millersburg, Ind.; two brothers, Lloyd F. Lichtenberger of Berne, Ind., and Raymond Lichtenberger of York, S.C.; three sisters, Fern Walker of Van Wert, Betty Beer of Richburg, S.C., and Kathryn Sanders of Grapeland, Texas; four grandchildren, Timothy, Holly, Lauren and Amber; and one great-grandson, Cole.
A brother, Lawrence Lichtenberger; one sister, Mary Double; and a granddaughter, Lydia Rose (in infancy, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur, Ind., with Pastors Chris Moore and Kenneth Hogg officiating. Burial will be in East Salem Cemetery in rural Adams County, Ind.
Calling hours are from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, May 20, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
