Charles W. Waterman

Charles W. “Chuck” Waterman, 64, of Ohio City, died at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born September 4, 1947, in Van Wert, the son of the late Charles and Meda Belle (High) Waterman. On December 28, 2001, he married Judy K. (Ellerbrock) Bendele Waterman, who survives in Ohio City.

Other survivors include two daughters, Nicole (Alan) Barna of Rockford and Mindi (Ryan) Koczot of Newport, N.C.; four stepchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Bendele and Steve Bendele, both of Kalida, Marci (John) Goecke of Spencerville and Mandi (Fidel) Paniagua of Ottawa; a sister, Sue (Audie) Thatcher of Ohio City; four grandchildren; a niece and nephew; 10 stepgrandchildren; and three great-nieces and nephews.

A nephew, Ross Thatcher, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the funeral home.
