Thatcher new assistant county engineer

The Van Wert County Engineering Department is pleased to announce the addition of Kory E. Thatcher to serve in the position of assistant county engineer under current County Engineer Kyle J. Wendel.

Thatcher is a 2007 graduate of Lincolnview High School, and a 2012 graduate of Ohio Northern University (cum laude) in Ada, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in the civil engineering program.  While at ONU, he was a four-year player on the rugby team.

Thatcher will be assuming land development and design responsibilities, as well as project coordination and surveying duties.

The new assistant county engineer is the son of Kevin Thatcher and Joanne Thatcher, and is a native of Hoaglin Township. He said he is extremely excited about the position, and looks forward to returning home to a career in the Van Wert area.
