Man accused of raping pre-teen child

A city man has been arrested on rape charges in connection with a Van Wert Police Department investigation.

George J. Tromblay, 55, of 628 State St., was charged with first-degree felony rape for an incident that allegedly involves a person under the age of 13. The rape charge, however, did not include a specification that there was force involved.

Tromblay was processed by police and is currently in the Van Wert County Correctional Facility awaiting an initial hearing in the case in Van Wert Municipal Court.
