Backpack meals available at YWCA
Information submitted
The YWCA of Van Wert County will be offering free weekend backpack meals to children ages 4-18 in our community. In order to be eligible for these meals, children must be present for lunch served Fridays by the Summer Food Program at the YWCA.
These free, kid-friendly meal packs will each include two pre-packaged breakfast meals, four pre-packaged lunch/dinner meals, one white milk, and one chocolate milk. All of the meals meet federal guidelines.
This program is made possible through an additional $1 million from Governor John Kasich to help feed hungry children in Ohio, as well as the following contributors: First Lady Karen Waldbillig Kasich, the Ohio Department of Education, the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks, and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Pre-register children by calling the YWCA at 419.238.6639.
