NPAC ticket release information
Wow! After months of preparation and work, we have released the new 2012-13 Niswonger Performing Arts Center complete season. The Community Concert Series was released a couple weeks ago and has been selling well with its five concerts for $60. You can still purchase this very affordable and economical package, which features the Lennon Sisters and four other outstanding concerts.
Now, if you saw the media last Friday, we released the rest of the season, which we refer to as the Grand Series and it includes our Lecture Series. If you have been a ticket purchaser in the past, you are one of nearly 9,000 who received the season catalog this week. If you didn’t, call our box office (419.238.NPAC 6722) and we can make sure you get one. You can also catch us at the Friday night concert in Fountain Park.
A lot of effort went into this season as we celebrate five years of presenting concerts at the NPAC of Northwest Ohio. We will celebrate with a huge gala weekend featuring the outstanding tenor and person, Ronan Tynan. If you are not aware of whom he is, I really encourage you to check out his bio. He is REALLY quite an individual, as well as an outstanding singer. In addition to his Friday night speaking engagement, he will culminate our gala activities with a huge not-to-be-missed concert with the Lima Symphony Orchestra on Saturday night, September 15.
Perhaps not everything will fit your fancy, but I think you will be hard pressed to not find something you will enjoy. People ask me what the highlights are and my answer is that I really don’t know. My opinion may be different from yours. For instance, I love the military bands and choruses and this year we were fortunate enough to have the U.S. Army Field Band and Chorus from Washington, D.C., schedule us. I saw a number of them, along with some Navy Sea Chanters on TV this past Memorial Day for their traditional concert in front of the Capitol. You can’t beat the price or the entertainment value of these organizations!
Aside from the Army Band, we do offer many shows, concerts and speakers I know you will recognize, starting with Christmas with the Osmonds, and the Oak Ridge Boys, the smash Broadway hit, Shrek — the Musical, which will be fun for the whole family. And that’s just Christmas time! Comedy, Jazz, Rock, Southern Gospel (which I know so many of you have been asking for!), kids’ shows, more musicals and outstanding vocalists are just a few of what we have in store for the upcoming season. And did I even mention Bobby Knight?
See what I mean? I can hardly begin to mention what the highlights of the season are. I think every show is a highlight quite honestly. If you feel that way too, then you may want to consider purchasing the Grand Series. And you save 20 percent! This goes on sale tomorrow (Thursday) from noon until 4 p.m. If you can wait for Wednesday, June 27, you can take advantage of the Select Series, where you can create your own little package of 3-5 concerts at a 10 percent savings or six or more for a 15 percent discount. This is a very popular series and because of the big demand, we will be open from noon until 6 p.m. that day. Chairs, cookies, punch, brochures, and even some video will be available to help you make your best selections while you wait.
All single shows and concerts go on sale approximately 90 days in advance of the concert date. Detailed information is available on our brand new designed web site: www.npacvw.org. You can also purchase tickets there as well as on face book. We are anxious to hear feedback on our recently re-designed web site. We have tried to provide as much information as possible and make purchasing tickets even more easily. I hope you enjoy the upcoming NPAC season and can get your seats reserved now for all the great programming coming soon.
Don’t forget the Fountain Park Summer Music concert this Friday night with 7 Bridges: the Ultimate Eagles Experience. Food at 5:30 p.m. and the good music begins at 7 p.m. See you there!
FINÉ.
