Marlins swim in local, Kenton meets

The Van Wert Marlins participated in two swimming meets this past week

The Marlins first hosted Ada-Lost Creek on June 18 at the Van Wert YMCA.

Sam Easley continued his dominance in 13-14 boys’ competition by sweeping five events.  In 9-10 girls’ action, Katie McVaigh won all three of her individual events, as did Erin Miller in her three individual 11-12 girls’ events. McKenzie Agler also won first in all five of her individual 15 & Over girls’ events.

Also scoring first place finishes were: Tyra McClain (1), Kayla Krites (1), Emma Pollock (1), Jamie Burenga (1), Risa Pollock (1), Aaron Stant (3), Alek Bowersock (1), Eric Easley (2) and Evan Stant (1).  The 9-10 Girls 200 freestyle relay team placed first (Jamie Burenga, Sydney Yoder, Emma Pollock, Katie McVaigh).

On June 21, the Marlins traveled to Kenton to swim at Hardin County Community Pool. Emma Pollock swept all five of her girls’ 9-10 individual events, while Sam Easley again swept five individual events.  Also bringing home first place finishes were: Anneliese Marecic (1), Erin Miller (1), Aaron Stant (1) and Brendan Marecic (3).
