Patrol investigates minor injury crash

OSHP information

Troopers from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a minor injury crash that took place at the intersection of U.S. 224, U.S. 127 and Marsh Road about 3:27 p.m. Tuesday.

A 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Rachel Jones, 26, of Van Wert, was northbound on March Road when Jones failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign and collided with the left side of a 1992 Chevrolet Beretta driven by Curtis Stewart, 17, also of Van Wert.

Jones was taken from the scene by the Middle Point EMS Squad and was treated and released.

Both Jones’ and Stewart’s vehicles were towed from the scene.

Jones was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

In addition to the Middle Point Fire and EMS, Van Wert Police Department assisted in providing traffic control at the scene.
