Arnulfo DeLeon
Arnulfo “Arnold” DeLeon, 70, of Van Wert, died at 11:56 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 10, 1941, in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, the son of the late Abundio and Manuele (Garza) DeLeon. On July 31, 1960, he married Maria (Alvarez) DeLeon, who survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include four children, Aida (Richard) Shoemaker of Huntington, Ind., Alicia (Jim) Voors and Alma (Mark) Ladd, both of Van Wert, and Arnold “Ernie” DeLeon of Convoy; a brother, Abundio DeLeon of Harlingen, Texas; two sisters, Adelina Alvarez of Van Wert and Amparo Rodriguez of Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A brother, Abel DeLeon, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Abel DeLeon officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial: American Heart Association.
