ODOT: Outage closes roadside parks

ODOT information

LIMA — Three roadside park locations in the area have been closed and are barricaded off due to power outages and downed trees, said Chris Hardesty, business and human resources administrator with the Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 1.

The parks located on Interstate 75 south of Findlay, and those on U.S. 30 near Cairo in Allen County and west of Van Wert in Van Wert County were closed Monday and are not accessible to traffic. It is unknown at present how long the closures will be in place. The closure affects both parks in each direction of travel at all three locations.

“The department is working to place temporary toilet facilities at each location for the July 4 holiday,” said Hardesty.

The park locations would be reopened to traffic if temporary toilets can be secured; however, the buildings at each location will remain closed until power is restored, he said.

The southbound park on U.S. 23 on the north side of Upper Sandusky in Wyandot County remains closed due to construction.
