Kouneta Blythe Stanton
Kouneta Blythe Stanton, 89, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Summerfield, Fla.
She was born May 12, 1923, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Isaac and Lona Blythe. She graduated from Hoaglin-Jackson High School in 1941 and later that year married Fred Stanton, who preceded her in death in January 2001.
Mrs. Stanton retired from Western Auto in Miami, Fla., and then moved to Summerfield, Fla. She was a member of Summerfield Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano.
She is survived by two nephews, Sam Blythe of Spencerville and Lynn Rex Dunlap of Phoenix, Ariz.; and three nieces, Marianne Blythe Ewing, Betsy Blythe Youngpeter of Spencerville and Linda Dunlap Nicholson of Lima.
Kouneta was known for her unique infectious laugh and is remembered by all her nieces and nephews fondly as a free spirit and independent woman who led an exciting and full life.
In keeping with her wishes, her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held in her church in Summerfield, Fla. Her ashes will then be flown to Ohio and she will be buried in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill, near the place of her birth.
