Upcoming theme: Military vehicles/patriotic

By Rex Dolby

The Wassenberg Camera Club will gather for its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, July 12, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center. Military vehicles/patriotic will be competition theme that evening. Three slides or 3, 4×6 prints may be submitted for $1. To encourage participation, those not competing are expected to put $1 in the No-Show cup. That money will be distributed among the winners. The military vehicle portion could include any piece of equipment that troops would ride in or on. Considering the number of wars this country has been in, that is a big inventory to photograph.

On the patrioticside of the competition, anything that you associate with the United States, or is unique and/or special to our country, would fit in this category. Think of some of your calendar pictures. Those that picture a particular part of our country, its land, monuments, buildings, people and symbols of the U.S. are good for submission. The special events that are presented on holidays and the sports played and enjoyed throughout the year would also come under this category.

With such a widesubject area, there will be plenty of pictures to see. Anyone who would enjoy viewing such images is welcome to attend the meeting. There are no steps to climb and building is air-conditioned.
