Billie Maxine Hurless

Billie Maxine Hurless, 84, of Van Wert, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at The Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.

She was born August 9, 1927, in Willshire, the daughter of the late Floyd Lee and Gladys Marie (Byer) Kohn. On May 17, 1947, she married Donald Eugene Hurless, who preceded her in death on September 1, 2008.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue A. (Rick) Ellinger of Van Wert, Bonnie R. Hurless of Helena, Mont., and Connie K. (Tom) Bassett of Van Wert; a brother, Terry (Teresa) Kohn of Hastings, Mich.; one sister, Bonnie (Allen) Gribler of Goodyear, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Bobby Joe Kohn, Jerry Dean Kohn and Max Lee Kohn; and two sisters, Ganelle Edsall and Juanita Parrish, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Kevin Wilcox and the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 16, at the funeral home, where a Order of Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 8 that evening.

Preferred memorials: Ohio City United Methodist Church.
