Tickets available for Beethoven’s ‘Ninth’
NPAC information
Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D Minor — the composer’s final and best-known symphony — closes out the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2012 summer season in a joyful way!
More than 100 singers from all over the region, who form the SummerFest Chorus, will be featured in the symphony’s final movement, nicknamed “Ode to Joy” because the words sung by soloists and the chorus were taken from a poem by that name. The Ninth Symphony is the first symphony to include a chorus.
Fort Wayne Philharmonic Music Director Andrew Constantine will conduct the concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, July 14.
Audiences can enjoy this grand symphonic work in the beautiful Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert on Saturday. For more information, call the NPAC at 419.238.6722 or visit the performing arts center’s website at npacvw.org.
Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for adults.
