Fundraiser successful

In May, a Cinco de Mayo fundraising event was held at Willow Bend Country Club to wrap up the 2011 United Way campaign. “It was well supported by the whole community,” said Lisa Lawson, committee chair. “We want to thank everyone involved. Those who attended, sponsored a corporate table, donated a raffle item or door prize, it was a fun way to wrap up our campaign. The staff was easy to work with and helped to make this event a success in every way.” The event netted the United Way a total of $6,500 and brought its campaign to a total of $434,828. Here, Marc Rush, club manager back row, at Willow Bend, presents a check to Lawson for $920 in support of the United Way. Other committee members include (from the left) Annette Balyeat, Marcia Dunifon, Deb Russell, and Michelle Jurczyk.  Unable to be in the picture were committee members: Kelly Houg, Jessi Hardesty, and Lorie Garwood.
