John Andrew Price

John Andrew Price, 93, of Mendon, died at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born September 27, 1918, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Joseph Wesley and Goldie Mary (Harp) Price. On October 5, 1945, in Ohio City, he married Evelyn L. (Fike) Price, who survives.

Other survivors include a son, John S. Price of Mendon; one brother, David E. (Helen Maxine) Price of Ohio City; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Two sisters, Catherine Price and Lois I. Bassett, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Philip E. Zielinski officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with graveside military rites performed by Spencerville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772.

Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Emmanuel Lutheran Church or the Ohio City Veterans Memorial Wall.
