V. Kathleen Scott Kaduk

V. Kathleen “Katie” Scott Kaduk passed from this life on Saturday, July 14, 2012, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Born on December 9, 1921, she was the granddaughter of John T. Scott, who founded the village of Scott in 1885.

Kathleen was a graduate of Van Wert High School’s Class of 1939 and retired from Aeroquip Corporation in 1986. While living in Van Wert, she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, was past president of the Va Wert Woman’s Club, an active member of the YWCA, the Aeroquip Ladies Retirement Club, the 39 Club social group and was a Twig volunteer.

Kathleen was an avid reader, world traveler, card player, seamstress extraordinaire, award-winning quilt maker and famous baker (see the YouTube video “Grandma Duke’s Homemade Blueberry Pie”). In 2001, she moved to Texas to be closer to family.

Survivors include her four daughters, Linda Kreischer Beaman of Auburn, Ind., Kathy Kaduk Tenoso of The Woodlands, Texas, Marianne Kaduk Scott of Athens, Ga., and Sally Kaduk Willms of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

No local memorial service or visiting hours are planned at this time.

In her honor, The Kathleen Scott Kaduk Memorial Scholarship Fund for Women has been established and contributions may be submitted to it, c/o The Van Wert County Foundation, ATTN: Larry Wendel, 138 E. Main St., Van Wert, OH 45891.
