YMCA to have RibFest Wiffleball tourney

The YMCA of Van Wert County will be hosting a Wiffleball home run derby on Friday, August 3, in conjunction with the RibFest.  Registration is going on now and forms are available at the Y or Convention and Visitor’s Bureau office. Event day registration will also be available and will begin at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds at 6 p.m. The event will begin at 7 p.m.

The entry fee is $10 and a buy back is available in the first round for $10.  Each entry must bring their own pitcher and will be given 10 swings. Four rounds will be held to declare the winners of each division.  The two divisions are ages 15 and under and 16 and over.  Per division, first place winners will receive 50 percent of the entry fees for their division (cash prize) and second place winners will get YMCA gear.
