VWCF awards $300,000 in scholarships

The Van Wert County Foundation has completed scholarship awards for the 2012-2013 academic year.  Executive Secretary Larry L. Wendel announced awards for 223 students from Paulding and Van Wert county schools, along with Delphos schools.  Van Wert County residents attending Parkway and Spencerville school districts were also included.

In excess of $300,000 was awarded for the coming school year. Scholarship grants ranged from $125 to $3,750, based on GPA and financial status of family.

The many donors that have established donor funds with the foundation make the scholarship program possible. Establishing a donor fund with the VWCF is an excellent way to provide financial assistance, not only for scholarships, but also for other worthwhile causes. Donor funds are held in perpetuity, with income distributed annually.
