Lancer girls 2nd at own invitational

Hickory Sticks Golf Course played host to the Lincolnview Lady Lancer Golf Invitational on Monday.

With cloudy conditions and comfortable temperatures, nine teams were vying for the Championship.

The Defiance Lady Bulldogs dominated the competition with a team score of 343, while the host

Lady Lancers garnered a runner-up finish with a school record of 375. Lincolnview edged the Lady Bulldogs of Celina by five shots.

Match medalist honors went to Lancer Kaitlyn Brant, who defeated Kelsey Koester of Coldwater in a one-hole playoff.  Brant recorded a par on the 10th hole as Koesters tallied a bogey. Each girl posted a fine score of seven over par 79 on the day. Forty-five golfers participated in the event.

Third, fourth, and sixth place went to Weisenberg, Shepherd and Behringer, all from Defiance.  The

Lancers’ Amanda Kocab recorded the fifth best score of the day with an 85. Jerico Bland of Paulding recorded a 90 for eighth place with a pair of Celina Bulldogs tying at 93.  Ross defeated Smith in

a card playoff.

Crestview’s Taylor Hughes recorded a 150.

Lincolnview will travel today to the Celina Bulldog Invitational, hosted by the Fox’s Den Golf Course
