What’s on sale at the NPAC
Before moving on to the fall, let me first say how much I appreciate everyone’s attendance and support of the Fountain Park Summer Music Series. Every year it seems to come and go more quickly than the previous year. For a summer of record drought conditions, we sure battled our weather concerns on Friday nights! However, your attendance and enthusiastic support at the concerts produced rave reviews from our performers. Many of them said the Van Wert crowds were some of the “best” they have ever had. And wasn’t Brass Transit wonderful! Just as advertised!
So now what’s up? As the days seem to shorten and the temperatures start dropping, it’s time to start thinking seriously about what’s in store inside- specifically at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
The season starts with a gala celebration of five years, and it all begins September 14 and 15. We have invited a doctor, a world-renowned singer, a gold medal athlete, a double amputee, an Irishman, an avid horseman, a New York Yankee World Series ring bearer, an author and an actor all to be in attendance at our gala opener. All these people are wrapped up in one individual: Ronan Tynan. He will speak at the NPAC on Friday, September 14, at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday night, this world-class Irish tenor will perform in concert with the Lima Symphony Orchestra in a night of celebration, inspiration and entertainment. I invite you to join us as we kick off our season and celebrate five wonderful years at the NPAC in Van Wert!
Other concerts, shows and speaking events that are currently on sale at the box office include: Hall-of-Fame Coach Bob Knight on October 4, The Lennon Sisters on October 6, Nunset Boulevard on October 14 starring Cindy Williams of Laverne & Shirley (now you know this one’s going to be hilarious!), Rodney Mack & the Philadelphia Big Brass on October 20, a great kid’s show ImaginOcean on November 3, and the hilarious classical music duo of Igudesman & Joo on November 11. And don’t forget the U.S. Army Field Band & Soldier’s Chorus of Washington D.C., which is a free, ticketed event on November 8.
These are all events that are currently on sale. You can buy them separately, all together (Grand Series), or as a Select Series. That takes us up to our Christmas Season at the NPAC which is always special! This year is certainly no exception. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by the box office or give them a call at 419.238.NPAC (6722). They will be happy to answer questions and help make your concert experience the best it can be.
We are welcoming some 175 energetic and good-hearted volunteers tonight to the NPAC for an appreciation dinner and training review as we “saddle up” for another exciting nine months of performing arts at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center of Northwest Ohio. We all look forward to seeing you there soon!
FINÉ.
