Engineering students down on the farm
Lake Campus information
CELINA — The relatively new bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering program offered at the Lake Campus of Wright State University is growing rapidly, and one of the reasons for that growth is that the engineering faculty understands the necessity of working closely with area industry.

The Lake Campus is pleased to offer a manufacturing track to the existing accredited program and faculty and students recognize the number of industries that use a wide variety of engineering technologies this degree offers.
Recently a group of Lake Campus engineering students met with Luke VanTilburg, a WSU-Lake Campus MBA graduate, to discuss VanTilburg’s Farms Inc.’s use of autonomous technology and to see actual working equipment that uses that technology. Engineering students hope to be awarded a grant during 2013 that will allow them to prototype and fabricate a small-scale autonomous combination lawn mower and corn planter.
