Betty L. Agler

Betty L. Agler, 83, of Van Wert, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at her residence.

She was born July 4, 1929, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Lewis and Goldie (Johns) Long. She married Joseph W. Agler, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Agler was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

Survivors include three children, Pam (Steve) McCollum, Ron (Kathy) Agler, and Jerry (Robin) Agler, all of Van Wert; two brothers, Bob of Ohio City and Dale of Van Wert; three sisters, Grace of Fort Wayne, Ind., Dorothy of Portland, Ind., and Roberta of Akron; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother, Lewis “Pete” Long; and three sisters, Helen, Gladys and Mildred, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: American Cancer Society or a charity of donor’s choice.
