Cougar boys’ golf team downs Kenton
Van Wert golf information
KENTON — The Van Wert golf team traveled to Veterans Park golf course to take on the Kenton Wildcats in Western Buckeye League action.
The Cougars were able to push their record to 2-0 in the league with a 160-184 victory over Kenton. Jacob Brake led Van Wert with a one-over-par 37 and was the overall medalist. Tyler Turnwald shot a 40 to match Brandon Hernandez’ score, despite starting the day 5 over in the first three holes. Turnwald had three birdies in his roller coaster round.
Rounding out the scoring for the Cougars was Luke Etzler, who shot a 43. Kenton was led by Damon Rall, who fired a 39.
Playing for the Cougars but having their scores dropped were Justin Price (46), and Robbie Trittschuh (54).
The Cougars have the weekend off before two home matches against St. Marys (Monday) and Elida (Thursday).
