CELINA — The Lady Lancer and Lady Raider golf teams traveled to the Mercer County Elks golf course just south of Celina to take on the Lady Cavaliers of Coldwater. With the nice weather conditions, as well as a beautiful golf course, the three teams set forth in a closely contested tri-match.
Coldwater standout Kelsey Koester, a junior, enjoyed solid play en route to a 41, which was good enough for match medalist honors. The Lancers were led in scoring by senior Kaitlyn Brant, who posted a runner-up medalist honors score of 43. Raider lead-off golfer, junior Emilie Linder, finished in third with a solid round of 44. Lancer senior Amanda Kocab, who shot a round of 47, was the only other golfer to shoot in the 40s.
The Lancers were able to hold off the Cavaliers by a count of 223 to 228 to take first place in the match. The Raiders were third with a team score of 240.
Lincolnview’s team score was achieved by Brant, Kocab, junior Macey Ashbaugh (60), and freshman Mikenna Klinger (73).
Wayne Trace’s foursome of Linder, Paige Rahrig (54), Karla Mosier (61), and Micayla Elliott (77) all combined to post the 240 team score.
Lincolnview moves to 4-1 in matches and will play next Tuesday at Hickory Sticks Golf Club in Van Wert as the Lancers host Hicksville, Ayersville, and Parkway.
