Lippi earns $1,000 Elks scholarship
DUBLIN — The Ohio Elks Association held its annual Fall Reunion in Dublin, August 17-19. Ohio Elks gathered to hear reports on the work that was accomplished for the past fraternal year.

During the weekend, Thomas S. Brazier of Santa Cruz, Calif., Elks Lodge 824, national president of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, along with his wife, Venita, were the guests of the Ohio Elks Association. Also guests for the weekend were Ron Zimmerman from the Sturgis, Mich., Elks Lodge and his wife, Jean. Zimmerman serves this year as the president of the Michigan Elks Association.
On Saturday, during the Youth Awards Luncheon, Brandon Lippi of Van Wert was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Lippi was selected as the “Outstanding Student Volunteer” for the Northwest District. He and his parents attended the luncheon as guests of the Ohio Elks Association.
Other area scholarship winners and parents attending the banquet were Jared Hallfeldt, who graduated this year from Crestview High School, and Brice Schulte, who graduated from Delphos St. John’s High School.
