Lucile Marie (Guingrich) Laukhuf Shealy

Lucile Marie (Guingrich) Laukhuf Shealy, 103, of Payne, died Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the Country Inn Enhanced Living Center in Paulding, where she had been a resident.

She was born July 13, 1909, in Gridley, Ill., the daughter of the late Emanuel and Rosa (Schultz) Guingrich. In 1927, she married Oscar R. Laukhuf, who preceded her in death in 1976. In 1978, she married the Rev. Grant Shealy, who died in 1987.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Pettit of Orlando, Fla., Elaine Milan of Cedarburg, Wis., and Marilyn Dargatz of Springboro; two stepsons, Fred Shealy of Pharr, Texas, and Thomas (Kathy) Shealy of Columbus; a brother, Robert W. Guingrich of Fort Wayne, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.

A son, Russell Laukhuf; one daughter, Lois Ann Laukhuf; four brothers, Chester, Virgil, Edward and Omer Guingrich; and three sisters, Madie Laukhuf, Helen Sinn Miller and Minerva Stoller, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paulding, with Pastor Karen Stetins officiating. Burial will be in Latty Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Preferred memorials: St. John’s Lutheran Church in Briceton or the Country Inn Enhanced Living Center Memorial Tree Fund.
