VW golfers down Elida in WBL match
Van Wert boys’ golf information
Shooting a season-low 155, the Van Wert Cougar golf team downed visiting Elida by seven strokes in a Western Buckeye League dual match played at Willow Bend Country Club.
The Cougars were led by seniors Jacob Brake and Tyler Turnwald, who shot a 36 and 38, respectively. Elida’s low score was turned in by Ian Haidle, who shot a 39.
With the win, Van Wert moves to 4-0 in the WBL and 6-0 overall. Elida is now 3-2 in league play and overall.
The Cougars are on the road next Tuesday and Thursday to take on Bath and Celina, respectively.
