Van Wert girls’ tennis information
The Van Wert girls’ tennis team got a big 4-1 win over Lima Bath in Western Buckeye League action on Tuesday.
No. 1 singles player Katie Etter lost to the best player in the WBL, Bath’s Emily Reure, but the Cougars’ No. 2 and 3 singles players, Paige Dunlap and Rachel Chen, and both doubles teams (Clair Butler and Tracey Nuyen at No. 1 and Sydney Dull and Ali Moreland at No. 2 doubles) all won their matches with the Lady Wildcats.
“It’s really neat to see this team come together as a team,” said Van Wert Coach Mitch Price. “We also have the best fans in the WBL.”
Price said his Cougars have set themselves up for a big match against rival Celina this Thursday. Van Wert’s overall record is now 4-3, while the team is 4-1 in the WBL.
