Corn maze opens soon
Rod and Kelly Cooper cut the ribbon Wednesday on this year’s Kernel Cooper’s Corn Maze. The maze, actually a series of three mazes honoring the 100th anniversary of the sinking of The Titanic, include two traditional “find the checkpost” mazes and a third maze with hidden checkposts that is part of a “Clue”-like whodunit game. Other activities include a straw maze and Farm Tracks game for children, Cornhole, a corn box, and Redneck Yahtzee. Kernel Cooper’s Corn Maze opens this Friday, September 7, and runs through November 3. Hours are 7 p.m.-midnight on Fridays, 1 p.m.-midnight on Saturdays and 1-9 p.m. on Sundays. Shown with the Coopers are Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce Board member (from the left) Jacque Welch, Chamber President/CEO Susan Munroe, Darlene Myers of the Van Wert Economic Development Office, Michael Cooper, Hayley and Lexie Walker and Chamber board members Troy Miller and Shonda Vorst.
