2012 Fair Board director winners named

The Van Wert Agricultural Society announced the results of this year’s election for fair directors.

In the race for a director to represent the city of Van Wert, Gary Showalter won 174-160 over Gary Ashbaugh.

Other races included a close win by Terry Childs II over Rick Roop, 156-150, in Pleasant Township, while Tim Short was elected to represent Union Township over Mark Clark 179-142.

Candidates for the remaining directors’ positions were unopposed. They include Fair Board President Dave Evans (Hoaglin Township), 261; Mike Poling (Washington Township), 258; and Jaime Agler (Tully Township), 259.
