Historical Society hosts chicken BBQ
Historical Society information
The Van Wert County Historical Society is hosting a chicken barbecue on Saturday, October 6. The dinner is eat-in or carryout and includes half a chicken, cole slaw, baked beans, a dinner roll and sheet cake. The meal will be prepared by the Van Wert Firefighters Association and served from 4:30-7 p.m.
Adult tickets are $8 apiece, two for $15, and are available from any of the Historical Society’s trustees or at the museum’s annex. Tickets for children under 12 may be purchased for $2 and will include a hot dog, cole slaw, baked beans and sheet cake.
For those who eat in, there is plenty of parking near the barn and drinks will be provided with the meal. Those who choose to carry out may pick up their dinners by driving west on East Third Street and stopping at the annex driveway. Meals will be delivered to your car.
This is the major fundraiser for the Historical Society and it’s one of the avenues used to raise the $14,000 needed to meet the fixed costs of the museum. The trustees are eager to give everyone a great meal and an enjoyable evening for the entire family.
Those trustees with tickets include Jon Amundson, Linda Mechling, Jeanne Zeigler, Larry Webb, Dee Howell, Jan Dunlap, Marie Sanfilippo, Art Weber, Fran Neiswander, Terry Eikenbary, Lionel Enyart, Lisa Van Wynsberghe, Ron Kessler, Tom Mosier, Ronda Davis, Ray Etzler, Barbara Hunt, Joe Steffan, Ron Kessler, Theresa Mengerink.
