Cougars win tennis match over Wapak

The Van Wert girls’ tennis team won an important Western Buckeye League victory over Wapakoneta on Thursday.

The Cougars won 4-1 over the Lady Redskins, with all three singles players and the No. 2 doubles team of Ali Moreland and Sydney Dull victorious in their matches.

Van Wert Coach Mitch Price was very pleased with the win. “What a great win for the girls and the team,” Price noted, adding, “The seniors really stepped up and really wanted this win.”

Van Wert is now 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the WBL, and will play next play Ottawa-Glandorf in league play.
