Echo Louise Stallter Kettering

Echo Louise Stallter Kettering, 96, of Rockford, died at 2:24 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born December 16, 1915, in Blackcreek Township, Mercer County, the daughter of the late Emmett and Kitty (Wolfe) Stallter. On February 14, 1937, she married C. Ray Kettering, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2008.

Survivors include a son, Keith (Kris) Kettering of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; three daughters, Kay (John) Thomas of Rockford, Karen (Wayne) Roell of Dale, Ind., and Kathy McHie of Oakton, Va.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Nadine Rohlfing and Donna Pontsler, and a granddaughter, Amy Osborn, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 21, at Rockford United Methodist Church, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 20, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
