School zone extended to new school

The Van Wert Police Department wants to remind motorists who regularly travel on South Shannon Street (Ohio 118) during the week that, with the new elementary school now open, the marked 20-mph school zone for motorists is now extended to include the new school property.

It is important for all motorists to pay attention to their speed in that zone as Van Wert police officers t will be monitoring speed during the restricted hours (7:10-8:20 a.m. and 2:25-3:45 p.m.)
