BRYAN — In one of the better fields that Van Wert golfers compete in all year, the Cougars shot 327 and finished third behind of traditional powers Toledo St. John’s (315) and Lima Central Catholic (316) at the Golden Bear Invitational.
Van Wert again was led by its two seniors, Jacob Brake and Tyler Turnwald, who both shot 76 and tied for third individually.
“Conditions were tough, with a cold wind and light rain,” said Van Wert Coach Jeff Hood. “The guys competed really well against a good field.”
