Karl D. Giessler

Karl D. Giessler, 94, of Van Wert, died at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

He was born February 28, 1918, in Harrison Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Arthur J. and Mabel Marie (Bell) Giessler. On September 17, 1944, he married Olene (Schaadt) Giessler, who preceded him in death on June 23, 1993.

Survivors include four nieces.

Two brothers, Wayne Giessler and a twin brother, Paul Giessler, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 28, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Gregg Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 27, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert or Gardeners of Van Wert County.
