Heart Land Patriots to host candidates
Information submitted
On Tuesday, October 2, on the eve of the first day of early voting in Van Wert County, the Heart Land Patriots will host an opportunity for candidates in contested local and statewide races to share their qualifications for office.
The Fall Candidates Night will occur at 6:30 p.m. October 2 in the Youth Room of the Family Life Center at Trinity Friends Church, 605 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert. Several candidates or their representatives will be on hand to make their sincere pitch to lure Van Wert area voters for both the Ohio House of Representatives seat up for grabs, as well as Ohio’s second U.S. Senate seat, currently held by Democrat Sherrod Brown, but hotly contested by Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel. In addition, those in attendance will receive information on two critical Issues on the Ohio ballot: Issues 1 and 2, as well as hear a brief discussion on the Ohio Supreme Court races.
The Patriots remind all citizens that early voting begins on Tuesday morning, October 2, at the Board of Elections in downtown Van Wert. The last day for new voters to register to vote for this important fall election is October 9.
Further information on the Heart Land Patriots’ upcoming calendar of events may be received by calling the Rev. Keith Stoller at 419.968.2869.
