Trick or Trot 5K race this weekend
Main Street Van Wert
Start the Halloween weekend with a brisk 5K run through historic downtown Van Wert.
This Saturday, October 27, Main Street Van Wert will host the third annual Trick-or-Trot 5K run. One of many events of the Harvest Moon Festival, the 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in front of Van Wert’s towering Van Wert County Courthouse.
The race will travel through Van Wert, to the Marsh Foundation and then back down historic Lincoln Highway. Participants are encouraged to run in Halloween costume.
Registration is $15 for all race participants and includes a Trick-or-Trot t-shirt. Registration is non-refundable. Race day registration starts at 7:30 a.m. in front of the Courthouse. Awards will be given for the top male and female finishers.
A children’s 1-mile Fun Run will also take place that morning at 8:30, with registration just $1 per child. For registration forms or more information, stop by Main Street Van Wert, 136 E. Main St., or email vwdowntown@embarqmail.com.
